Use These Companies to Find the Best Military Discounts

Companies Such as ID.me, Veterans Advantage, and GovX Provide Some of the Best Military Discounts.

We all love a good military discount. Many stores have them, and if you aren’t sure if they do, all you have to do is ask. However, there are a few companies that make using military discounts a bit easier, particularly when shopping online. They take care of the verification, what the discount is, and make it easy for you to get the discount that you want.

ID.Me

ID.me is a way for individuals to be able to prove and share their identity online. They have 64 million members, have a partnership with 27 states, multiple federal agencies, and over 500 name brand retailers.

It started with the military community but has now spread to students, teachers, nurses, first responders, and government employees.

The company has built partnerships with retailers and has built a digital identity network where users verify their identity online and don’t have to do it at every store. If you go to the ID.me Shop, you can browse by groups. Find the “Military” button or do a search to find all the military discounts you are looking for. You can also find ID.me on retailers’ websites. Once you create an account and you are verified, you will easily be able to claim the discounts.

How to Celebrate Father’s Day, by Service Branch

Celebrating Father’s Day with Your Service Member – A Parody by Branch

Father’s Day is upon us again, and now begins the celebratory preparations. If you’re lucky enough to have your service member home with you this Father’s Day, we’ve compiled some ideas about how best to spend the day with Dad.

Since each service is different, they all come with their own quirks. Keep in mind that what follows are merely suggestions.

Army

Morning Formation

Let’s be real. Even though most Soldiers decry morning formations, deep down they absolutely love them. It’s one of the best parts of their day: waking up early, taking accountability, and chiding the guy who is always out of uniform.

For this reason, to celebrate Soldier-dads this year, hold an accountability formation. I recommend blasting Reville on a bugle, but iTunes also works. When your Soldier stumbles out of the rack, have any and all kids form up in platoon formation. (It’s okay if there’s only one kid…I’ve seen formations with two Soldiers before.)

Once your Soldier arrives at the formation area, call your platoon to “Attention”, render a salute, and report, “Family Company all accounted for!”

Be prepared for your Soldier to reply with “ZONK!” If this happens, you have three seconds to get out of sight or you’re all doing PT.

Physical Training

Even though Soldiers act like they hate the Army Physical Fitness Test, it is one of their favorite physical training activities, second only to the 12-mile ruck march. Once your Soldier has turned the formation back over to the platoon leadership, roll out your PT mats and get ready for an APFT!

Make sure you have a stopwatch on hand so you can time the various events. If you have an old-school Soldier, then stick with the traditional APFT: push-up, sit-up, two-mile run. If you have a younger Soldier, then you can try and set up the new-fangled fitness test with its myriad events. Keep in mind, though, that the Army still hasn’t figured out the new test, so the old one may be best for now.

If your Soldier tries to go to Sick Call, let them know that the aid stations and clinics are closed for Father’s Day.

Chow

I don’t recommend spending a lot of time planning a huge spread for breakfast. Even though there are Dining Facilities that have all the food a Soldier could eat, most Soldiers go to Burger King after PT anyways. Charley’s Subs is another favorite.

The best approach is to actually go into Burger King with your sweaty PT clothes on. While waiting in line for your food, make sure you tell embellishing stories about who scored the highest on the fitness test. But having BK delivered is a solid Plan B.

Activities

By the time PT and chow are finished, it should be mid-morning. Some Soldier-dads love fishing, while others love to walk around the PX. Make sure you stop by a tactical gear store so your Soldier can look around and criticize what works and what doesn’t.

For outdoor activities, Cornhole and Horseshoes are top recommendations. The kids love throwing the bean bags, and if your Soldier gets one in the hole on the first try, they just might yell out, “EIB, baby!”

If you have a pool or plan on swimming, it behooves you to have squirt guns and pool noodles on stand by. Soldiers can’t resist the urge to squirt or smack someone in the face. Whatever it is you do, cherish the time you have with your Soldier, because to them it’s priceless.

Navy

Anchor’s Away

If you’re married to a true Sailor, then your home should already have a ship’s bell installed somewhere near the entrance. At the time of your choosing, CLANG on the bell eight (8) times to wake your sleeping Sailor.

When they fall out of the berthing, have your kids salute and yell, “Eight bells and all’s well!” This lets your Sailor know it’s time for their watch, and it just might make them chuckle.

Physical Training

It may seem stereotypical, but Sailor’s love to row for fitness training. In fact, it is likely that there’s a rowing machine in the aft of the garage. After rowing for 2,000 meters, follow up with a family-fun fitness event called “Walking the Plank”.

This is where the Sailor gets into the plank position of their fitness test, and then all the kids walk the plank from shoulders to feet. The more kids the merrier! For fewer kids, give them multiple run throughs.

Galley Gala

While underway, most Sailors are used to a fairly predictable chow schedule. Since Father’s Day is always on a Sunday, it’s likely that they’ll expect either steak, crab, lobster, or a combination of those. Or you could surprise your Sailor by having none of them! Consider grilling up some brats and corn-on-the-cob.

Whatever you choose to feed your Sailor, just don’t give them beans. Even though civilians think that all Sailors love Navy beans, I’ve yet to meet one that does. And it would just be cliché to do something like that!

Activities

Okay, the following recommendation is culturally circumstantial, but I would be remiss if I didn’t bring it up. Since most Sailors believe that Maverick is their spirit animal, you should take your Sailor to see the new Top Gun: Maverick movie…again.

On the way to the movie, you have to crank up the soundtrack to the classic 1980’s Top Gun. Keep in mind that the only two songs that really matter are Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” and the Top Gun Anthem.

Save the playing of Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” for when the kids are asleep.

Marine Corps

Wake Up

Getting up before your Marine is already challenging enough. Aim to initiate the wake up call around 0400, as most Marines are already used to not sleeping anyway. (As a cautionary note, do NOT get too close to a sleeping Marine, as you may end up on the floor in a choke hold.)

With that said, the best way to wake up a Marine is to blare the National Anthem while holding an American Flag. This way, when they’re aggravated by the abrupt wake up, they’ll have a couple minutes to calm down as they stand at Attention and render a rigid salute.

Roll Call

Once the wake up procedure is finished, it’s best to have all the children line the hallway at the position of Parade Rest. Once your Marine exits the bedroom, the senior ranking child will call the house to Attention and say,

Sir! Reporting for duty, sir!

The likely response will be “Rah” as your Marine passes by and heads to the coffee machine. If there are more than a couple children, you may assist them in counting by conducting a Roll Call.

Physical Training

For some reason, Marines love doing PT before the sun comes up. It is likely, however, that your Marine will really want to go back to bed, but you can’t let this happen!

The best way to get a Marine to do PT is to challenge him to a Father’s Day push-up contest. Not only does he have to accept because his kid(s) challenged him, but also because he knows he’s going to win anyway.

Once your Marine has thoroughly out-pushed every child in the house, the final challenge is to do 20 pushups with all the kids on his back. Remember, the harder you can make this, the better your Marine will feel when it’s over.

Chow

Once physical training is complete, your Marine will probably be hungry. While the steak and eggs are cooking, keep your Marine’s hunger at bay by serving a bowl of tasty Crayola crayons. I hear the red ones are the best.

Activities

By this time, the sun would probably just start to rise, which means the rest of the day is open. Suggested Father’s Day activities with your Marine include:

  1. A legit game of hide and seek using ghillie suits and face paint
  2. A water balloon fight (Hint: avoid colorful balloon assortments as they will distract your Marine. Instead, try to find grenade colored water balloons.)
  3. A barbecue. Marines love fire, food, and fellow Marines.

Air Force

First Call

The Air Force is often ridiculed by the other services as being pampered, which isn’t entirely true. Sure, they have a higher quality of life than most other services, and some would even admit that they have a special operations program. Either way, your Airman works hard on the front lines of aviation dominance freedom!

For Father’s Day, the best way to wake up your Airman is by playing your best rendition of “Morning Mood” by Grieg on the flute or recorder. As you play, gradually crescendo until dad sits up in bed with a stretching yawn, sunlight creeping through the veiled windows, as children giggle and chatter in the background.

Physical Conditioning

Once your Airman has risen and cheerfully greeted the day, escort them to the living room for their daily round of physical conditioning. This training is often conducted virtually, so make sure the Wii is booted up, and that the controllers or VR headsets have fresh batteries.

Getting a good workout is essential as endorphins are released with vigorous physical activity. To that end, virtual activities like wind sprints, rock climbing, and white water rafting can all be done from the comfort of your living room.

Although the real workouts are more intense and beneficial, these virtual alternatives will be fun for the whole family.

Fine Dining

Since most Air Force dining facilities rival the greatest 5-Star restaurants, breakfast will likely be the most challenging part of your day.

It could be as simple as serving Strawberry-Filled Red Velvet Crepes. Or, you can shoot for the moon by serving Croque Madame Bistro Salad with Pancetta. Serve breakfast with a piping hot cup of Kopi Luwak to ensure you get the best reviews.

Whatever you choose to serve your Airman, ensure that it is organic and sustainably resourced.

Agenda

This Father’s Day may be challenging for your Airman since the new Top Gun movie is an entertaining shot over the Air Force’s bow. I’d recommend taking your Airman to see the movie and ask them to point out the flaws in naval aviation. Sure, it’s from Hollywood, but they had to check with the Navy first, right?

If that idea doesn’t fly, then the next best activity is a group massage at the spa. Most spas don’t mind if the kids do cannonballs in the hot tub, and it will give you and your Airman time to relax and unwind.

No matter how you celebrate on this high-flying Father’s Day, make sure dad gets quality family time.

Check out our BIG List of Military Discounts!

Coast Guard

Nevermind that most other services don’t think the Coast Guard is an actual branch of the military, I am proud to say that there have been many shallow water sailors in my family. The Coast Guardsman in your life is definitely worth celebrating!

Morning Muster

To be quite honest, your Coastie may actually wake you up on Father’s Day. They have an irresistible urge to wake up before the sun rises to ensure that no one stole the coastline. Even though they are off duty, they’re probably gonna check the coast in uniform, just in case service members from other branches are watching. Take that, haters!

Physical Training?

It hasn’t been corroborated by reliable sources, but some say that the Coast Guard does, in fact, conduct physical training. Be prepared for a beach run in Ranger panties. This will likely be followed by a brief swim in the ocean as your Coast Guardsman acts out their favorite scenes from The Guardian, which we all know is the Coast Guard version of Top Gun.

Follow this by spending some time finding seashells with the kiddos. Always good fun.

The Original Galley

The Coast Guard is proud of the fact that their service branch preceded that of the Navy by eight years. That makes them the oldest service on the water.

For breakfast, serve up some strong coffee with some of the Coast Guard’s infamous survival cookies. What civilians and other branches pay money for, your Coast Guardsman has a lifetime supply of these emergency rations. Be advised, it is also likely that they hate these yummy cookies if they’ve ever been roped into the two-minute challenge, wherein they have to eat a whole serving in two minutes or less without water.

If that is the case, a big bowl of Captain Crunch with Crunch Berries is always a viable alternative.

Mandatory Fun

If you’re not having a good time with your Coast Guardsman, then you’re doing something wrong! These chaps are happy to do anything with their family at any time.

Some recommended activities with dad include:

  1. Taking the little puddle pirates outside to jump in muddy puddles
  2. Spear fishing
  3. Teaching their parrot to trash talk the Navy

Space Force

Morning Meeting

As the nation’s newest military service branch, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around the Space Force. Even so, as America’s first all-digital force, rousing your sleeping Guardian may be as easy as just setting a phone alarm. To liven things up, I recommend downloading either the Star Trek theme or the Imperial Death March from Star Wars.

Once your Guardian has risen, hold a family Zoom meeting and offer the greeting of the day. I recommend something like, “To infinity and beyond!”; but they probably get that a lot already. My Guardian does.

Fit Bit Fun

Based on my limited knowledge, the Space Force is or plans to utilize tracking devices like Fitbits to monitor a Guardian’s fitness. In a sense, this leaves the whole world open for physical training!

Since many Space Force Guardians transferred from other services, they’ll likely fall back on what they’re used to. So this could include beast-mode bodybuilding, galactic yoga, or a solar spinning class.

Freeze Dried Everything

While there are a few Space Force bases around the country, they receive most of their support from the Air Force, which includes their dining facilities.

To break away from the talons of the Air Force, Guardians need to embrace their new service and blaze a new trail. To accomplish this, breakfast should include astronaut food almost exclusively. If you have difficulty getting your hands on NASA’s stash of space grub, then purchase some freeze dried foods. These can be found on survival websites.

Moon pies may also be a hit on Father’s Day.

A Star-Studded Day

Any self-respecting Guardian is meticulously familiar with scheduled space launches, but most civilians are not. It may be worth a weekend trip to central Florida to chance witnessing a launch from Cape Canaveral.

As it stands now, there are a number of launches that don’t yet have dates, but they are scheduled for some time in June 2022. For instance, you could take your Guardian to see either a Falcon 9 or Astra Rocket 3.3 launch.

Additionally, your Guardian is likely into Comic Con and other hippy-dippy events. I even hear that the San Diego Comic Con is trying to recruit current Guardians to speak at their upcoming event.

Incidentally, there are two events on or around Father’s Day that your Guardian would absolutely love. First, the Greater Austin Comic Con runs from June 17th-19th in Cedar Park, Texas.

Second is the Dover Comic Con on June 18th at the Public Library in Dover, Delaware. Again, it may be worth a trip for your Space Force hero.

If you’re headed to Cape Canaveral, don’t miss these Disney World Military Discounts!

Conclusion

I must concede that, even with the humorous jabs levied against all branches of our Armed Forces, I hold all services close to my heart.

I served in the Army, as did my brothers. I fought shoulder to shoulder in Iraq with the Marines from the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force. My father was in the Air Force, and I have a son in the Coast Guard. My wife serves in the Space Force, and two of my grandfathers served in the Navy. My family is the military, and I am proud of all of America’s military branches.

It is with the utmost respect and appreciation that we wish all military dads a Happy Father’s Day!

The 10 Best Financial Benefits for Members of the Military and Their Families

The 10 Best Financial Benefits for Members of the Military and Their Families

What are some of the best financial benefits for those serving in the military? Here are the top 10!

1. VA Loans

With a VA Loan, military families have a much better chance of being able to own vs having to rent or live on their military installation. With a VA loan, you don’t have to have a down payment and you don’t have to buy private mortgage insurance. The amount you are allowed to use for a VA loan has recently gone up, making it possible to use one in most locations. There is a VA funding fee, but if you have a service-connected disability you do not have to pay it.

>> Interested in a no PMI, zero down payment possible home loan?  For a no-obligation, free consultation regarding your VA Loan eligibility, please go here.

2. Lower Interest Rates

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( SCRA) protects service members by putting a cap of a 6% interest rate on financial obligations that were started before military service. Service members must be serving as active duty or on active duty orders.

3. Military Discounts

There are so many military discounts out there. From Disneyland to Home Depot. Some may save you 10% and others might give you a free entry, or 50% off the cost of a ticket. You can check out our military discount section here at MyMilitaryBenefits to see what is out there.

4. Space-A Flights

Space-A Flights are basically free flights for service members and their families, as well as veterans. The flights are based on space available on military flights. You do have to plan for these trips and need to know if you qualify and what priority you have. If you can make Space-A work you can travel for very low cost, CONUS, and OCONUS depending on your status.

5. State Tax Breaks

Depending on your state, you might get a tax break. Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming don’t have state taxes on income. In addition to those states, Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Utah, West Virginia, and Wisconsin do not tax military retirement pay.

6. The Savings Deposit Program

The DoD Savings Deposit Program is where service members can save up to $10,000 with a 10% interest rate during a deployment. Service members must be serving in a designated combat zone, or are receiving hostile fire/imminent danger pay as they serve in a Qualified Hazardous Duty Area (QHDA) or a designated direct support area of a combat zone, and serve for more than 30 consecutive days. The savings account can continue to earn interest up to 90 days after you redeploy.

7. Thrift Savings Program (TSP)

TSP stands for the Thrift Savings Plan. The Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) is a retirement savings and investment plan for federal employees and members of the uniformed services, including the Ready Reserve. The limit for 2022 is $20,500 but if you are deployed you are able to put more than that amount in. The TSP is a great way to save money during military life.

8. The Exchange

The Exchange is also called AAFES, NEX, or CGX depending on the branch. The Exchange offers tax-free shopping on a military installation. They offer employment and around 60% of what you spend goes back to the military community. They also offer contests, events, and sweepstakes, and you can shop online.

9. Commissary

The Commissary, operated by The Defense Commissary Agency, can save military families money on similar products that you find elsewhere. In addition to this, the Commissary also has a reward card, sales, scholarships, discounted prices, and more.

10. Inexpensive Life Insurance

Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) offers low-cost term coverage to eligible members of the military. You can get coverage up to $400,000 regardless of your age, health, or if you will be deployed or not. The cost is $300 a year.

FSGLI is for spouses and children. You can get up to $100,000 in coverage for a spouse for as little as $54 a year, if the spouse is under 35. You can also get $10,000 per military child for no fee.

Marine Corps Birthday: USMC Turns 246

Happy Birthday, United States Marine Corps!

To all Marines, past and present, we celebrates your 246 years of service to America. You are the amphibious fist of American freedom, and we thank you for your loyalty and bravery.

The First Marines

The Second Continental Congress established the Continental Marines in 1775, just months before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Their mission was to secure and support the Continental Navy during operations in the Revolutionary War.

After the war, Congress disbanded the Continental Marines despite their gallant service against the British.

Warriors Reborn

On July 11, 1798, Congress established a Marine Corps, which would again operate within the Navy. From that day forward, Marines have served around the world with ferocious and unmatched loyalty.

It is this Loyalty for which Marines maintain their notoriety. Embodied within their motto, “Semper Fidelis” is Latin for “Always Faithful”, and it signifies a Marine’s dedication to their mission, their Corps, and their Country.

Marine Corps Birthday Celebrations Cancelled

In mid-October, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General David Berger, announced the cancellation of the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball. This event normally takes place in Washington D.C. each year, and 2021 will be the second year it was cancelled.

Other celebrations across the country are also cancelled. This breaks a long-held tradition since November 10th, 1921, when the 13th Marine Corps Commandant, General John Legune, established the gatherings.

Even so, Marines are highly resilient warriors, and the cancellations caused by the pandemic will not deter their esprit de corps. We stand with our Marines and celebrate their heroic heritage.

The Businesses of Marine Corps Veterans

Marines have shaped history, both on and off the world’s battlefields. Check out some great Marines who formed some great businesses.

GoDaddyBob Parsons is a businessman and philanthropist who founded the web hosting company GoDaddy in 1997. He served as a Rifleman with Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Marines during his 1969 tour of duty in Vietnam.

Task & PurposeZachary Ischol is a decorated Marine Officer who served two tours in Iraq and fought in the Second Battle of Fallujah. He is the founder of the digital media company, Task & Purpose.

VETtvDonny O’Malley, a Marine Infantry officer of six years, created VeteranTV (VETtv) after frustration during and after his deployment to Afghanistan. He started writing down stories about his experiences and shared them with friends. Not long after, O’Malley founded VETtv to turn those stories into skits that only Veterans could appreciate.

Famous BrandsDerek Sisson started Famous Brands, which is a niche brand development company. He is a Force Recon Marine veteran.

Stubble + ‘StacheNicholas Karnaze founded this company in 2012 to address issues faced by bearded men. Mr. Karnaze grew his beard out to honor the death of his good friend and fellow special operation Marine. It was this tribute that laid the foundation for Stubble.

Heroes VodkaTravis McVey founded his company in 2009 following the tragic loss of his friend who died fighting in Afghanistan. On Veterans Day, 11.11.11, Heroes Vodka bottled it’s first product. Mr. McVey is a Marine veteran who served on the Presidential Honor Guard from 1989-1992.

Glass Beach MugsTurk McCleskey co-founded his company which recreates durable, ceramic mugs used by Marines in Cuba in the early 20th century. He served as a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

Famous Marines

Rose Franco

Rose Franco is a retired Warrant Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. She was born in Puerto Rico in 1934 and was the first Hispanic woman to become a chief warrant officer in the Marines. In 1952, she left college and enlisted in the Marines shortly after the start of the Korean War.

After completing her four year enlistment, Franco returned home to Puerto Rico and worked for Pan American Airlines. In 1965, she was named the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Navy under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. She continued to hold many important positions at the Pentagon during her career.

Drew Carey

Drew Carey is an actor, comedian, and game-show host who is well-known for shows like Whose Line Is It Anyway? and The Drew Carey Show. In 2007, he began hosting the iconic game-show, The Price Is Right, to replace the legendary Bob Barker.

Carey also cut his college career short and enlisted in the Marines in 1980, where he served for six years as a Field Radio Operator in Ohio’s 25th Marine Regiment. In July 2021, he was awarded the Lone Sailor Award given by the United States Navy Memorial Foundation.

Hot Veterans Day Discounts

With Veterans Day coming on the heels of the USMC birthday, it seems only fitting to throw in a few discounts and sales you should know about.

  1. Airsoft Megastore – If you’re into Airsoft gear for fun or sport (who isn’t, right?), then you should check out their current sale running up to Veterans Day. Many items are marked down up to 70% off the sticker price! Use code FREESHIP at checkout to get free shipping on orders over $149.
  2. Eddie Bauer – This Veterans Day, Eddie Bauer is offering a discount of 50% off of ONE (1) apparel or outerwear item. Some exclusions apply, and it’s for online sales only. Use code APPAREL50 at checkout.
  3. Petco – For those faithful devil dogs (or cats, or llamas) in your life, Petco is offering a special 20% off coupon for Buy Online & Pickup In-Store (BOPUS) orders. The order must be $50+ dollars to apply. Use code BOPUS20 during checkout.
  4. Mission BBQ – No list is complete without a discount on some good BBQ. But, to top any mere discount, Mission BBQ declared that “Veterans Eat FREE” this Veterans Day. With dozens of locations around the country, it’s hard to pass up free barbecue!

Semper Fi, Marines!

In closing, the United States Marine Corps is one of the most recognizable symbols of America’s freedom. While small in number compared to its sister services, the Marine Corps will strike hard, anytime and anywhere it is called to serve.

Happy Birthday, Marines!

About the San Antonio Zoo

The zoo is 35 acres, with over 3,500 animals and 750 species.

The first zoo began in 1914 when Colonel George Washington Brackenridge placed bison, deer, monkeys, African lions, and bears on the land he had deeded to the city. The land became Brackenridge Park and Golf Course.

The zoo opened two of the first cage-less exhibits in the US in 1929 that offered people a view of the animals that weren’t available with animals in cages.

The Richard Friedrich Aquarium was dedicated in 1948, and the Hixon Bird House in 1966. The zoo is involved in breeding a number of endangered species.

They offer free admission to members of the military in November of each year.

It was then reopened as the Municipal Zoo in 1951. The first attraction was an alligator named Al. The modern Knoxville Zoo was born in 1971. They offer a discount on annual zoo memberships as a military discount.

Talk 4 Troops Offers Cellphone, Laptop Discounts

Talk 4 Troops offers military, veterans, and first responders access to sizable discounts on laptops, smartphones, and various other devices. This includes brands such as Apple, Samsung, and Google. All of their phones are unlocked, tested, and are guaranteed for 30 days after purchase.

The Talk 4 Troops Military Discount

The discount, which is applied at checkout, is 10% off of the list price. That may not sound like a lot; but on the Samsung Galaxy S20 I scoped out on their site for $786, that discount knocks the price down almost 80 bucks. I don’t know about you, but I don’t pass up that kind of money. Especially when I’m already in the market for the device.

To make this program even better, a portion of each sale is donated to charities that serve veterans and first responders.

Going to the zoo can be such a fun thing to do as a family. Did you know that many zoos across the country have military discounts? Some offer free tickets, and others just a few dollars off. Here is a list of 18 zoos and the military discounts they offer.

The Montgomery Zoo started as a local park in the 1920s. They have a giraffe encounter, a parakeet cover, a petting zoo, and more. At the Montgomery Zoo, you can find a military discount of $1.00 off. You must buy your tickets at the zoo to receive this discount. The regular price for adults is $17 and $13 for kids. They also have a Veteran Appreciation Week from November 6 to November 12th, 2022. Badass Beard Care

Another one of my favorite veteran-owned companies, this one specializes in grooming supplies for men. This Father’s Day, take 20% off their beard butter, beard wash, and body wash. Don’t know which to get? That’s okay because they have a Father’s Day bundle! For $74.99, you can choose a beard oil scent, a beard balm/wax/butter, a deodorant, and a hat. That’s a savings of over $20 when these items are purchased separately. If your Dad has a beard, or even any hair really, then this bundle is probably the best gift you could get him.

Veteran-owned and Texas-made! These seasonings will up Dad’s grilling game to a level he’s never experienced. Other bundles are selling for up to 40% off. If Dad spends any time around a grill, or even in the kitchen, he needs a seasoning bundle. You can also get 15% off with code DAD15.

BattlBox

If you’re familiar with this name, then you know that BattlBox is a monthly subscription box service that delivers outdoor and survival gear, tactical kits, and just some all-around cool gear. Well, what you may not know is that you don’t need to be a subscriber to purchase some of the boxes. Example: for Father’s Day, Battlbox is offering the “Ultimate Father’s Day Gift Box” for $119.00. All of these items together sell for over $233, but you’re saving almost 50% off of that price when you purchase them in the Father’s Day bundle.

NASCAR

Does not appear they are having the same sale in 2022!

Is Dad a race fan? For a limited time, NASCAR is offering 20% off their Father’s Day t-shirts. With messages like “Best Dad Ever”, or “Racing’s Greatest Dad”, there’s something for Dad in the NASCAR shop. Also, free shipping on orders over $50 when you use code: NASCAR.

Best Buy

If my wife can’t find me, I’m either at the range or Best Buy. While there is no blanket discount for all sales, some items at Best Buy are heavily reduced for Father’s Day. You can save between $40-$200 on select televisions, or $50 off on a home projector system. Take $70-$80 off wireless subwoofers or bookshelf speakers. Or save between $70-$100 off some smartwatches. Does Dad need a new laptop? How does saving $130 on a new Lenovo laptop sound? There’s so much more to list, but you should check out the sales for yourself before they’re over.

Advance Auto Parts

Advance Auto Parts is offering a 50% discount on select tool sets now through Father’s Day. There is anything from wrench sets, socket sets, and various other hand tools. Shop online for home delivery or curbside pickup.

Whether it’s TVs, computers, grills, tools, or outdoor gear, your exchanges have all the gifts you need for Dad. Most items are discounted already, and there’s no sales tax. Get on it!
