About Taos Ski Valley

In the 1800s, present-day Taos Ski Valley was the site of a small copper mining town called Twining, NM, but then later abandoned. Taos Ski Valley was founded in 1955 by Ernie and Rhoda Blake. The first ski lift was installed in 1956, the 2nd in 1957. In 2013, it was purchased from the Blake family by Louis Bacon. They have 110 runs and their headquarters are in Taos Ski Valley, NM. They offer a military discount on tickets and passes.
