Save This Winter On Skiing and Winter Clothes With Your Military Discount

Winter will be here soon and with it, ski season! Here is a long list of ski resorts that offer some type of military discount. Save a little bit of money this year when you make plans to have some fun on the slopes.

Big Bear Mountain Resort, Big Bear Lake, California

They offer discounted lift tickets to active duty and their dependents all season long. The discount is for 25% off the ticket window rate for one-day lift tickets with no blackout dates. Valid at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit. You can also purchase tickets at a larger discount through a participating MTP or Air Force Central Ticket office.

In addition to this, they also have Uniform Days where you can ski/ride for only $45. These dates are January 8-9, February 5-6, and March 4-5. You can also buy discounted military passes online, by calling 1-844-GO2-BEAR or by visiting a season pass and guest services office at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit.

Vail Resorts

Vail resorts offer great discounts to active duty and retired military on their lift tickets if you purchase them at the ticket window. Dependents are also eligible with a military ID. You can only purchase tickets one day at a time. This discount is open to members of all five branches of the military and Department of Homeland Security who have been or could be deployed. Those who have been discharged from the military do not qualify. They do honor IDs that say, “Active Duty Deceased.”

Vail at Vail, Colorado

The discounted price for the 2019-2020 season is $131 for adults, and $90 for children, 12 and under.

Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Beaver Creek, Colorado

The discounted price for the 2019-2020 season is $131 for adults, and $90 for children, 12 and under.

Breckenridge Ski Resort, Breckenridge, Colorado

The discounted price is $113 for adults, and $73 for children, 12 and under.

Keystone, Keystone, Colorado

The discounted price for the 2018-2019 season was $101 for adults, and $59 for children, 12 and under.

Heavenly Ski Resort, Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada

The discounted price is $103 for adults, and $57 for children, 12 and under.

Okemo Mountain Resort, Ludlow, Vermont

The discounted price for the 2019-2020 is $75 for adults, and $57 for children, 12 and under.

Vail Resorts also offers an Epic pass which is good at many different ski resorts. Unfortunately they have sold out for the 2019/2020 season but they do offer military discounts on those passes too.

Peak Resorts, which was recently acquired by Vail Resorts, is also apart of this Epic pass. Their resorts are located in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, near major metropolitan areas including New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Columbus, St. Louis, Kansas City and Louisville.

China Peak Mountain Resort, Lakeshore, California

At this resort, active, retired, veteran, and active military dependents can purchase one discounted all-day lift ticket. The ticket is valid any day, including holidays. The cost of the 2019-2020 season was $49 for non-holiday days and $52 for holiday days. The discount is for adults only with a valid military ID.

Crystal Mountain, Enumclaw, Washington

This resort offers a daily $10 discount to the military and their dependents with a valid military ID. The tickets are available at the resort and the discount is valid on full-price tickets only for midweek, not weekends or holidays. They also have a military appreciation event in April of 50% off full-price tickets and $25 rental packages.

Crystal Mountain, Thompsonville, Michigan

At this resort, all active duty and retired military and their dependents can receive $15 off of Saturday and peak period tickets, and 50% off of midweek, Sunday through Friday tickets. You must show your military ID at the ticket and rental windows for the discount.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Incline Village, NV

They offer active duty a free lift ticket during midweek and non-peak days. During the weekends and peak periods, the tickets will be $20 off. Retired military and dependents can receive $20 off the all-day window rate during the whole season.

Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest, California

At this resort, active duty military, ages 20-64 pay $65, and teens, ages 18-19 pay $55 for their military discount.

Eagle Point, Beaver, Utah

They offer 15% off lift tickets with a proper military ID.

Grand Targhee Resort, Alta, Wyoming

At this resort, you can find a discount on lift tickets for active duty personnel with a valid ID. The discount is for a full-day lift ticket at the half-day rate.

Homewood Mountain Resort, Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada

At Homewood, active duty military can receive free non-peak lift tickets with a valid CAC. On peak dates and holidays you can receive 50% off day tickets. Spouses and children also receive 50% any day when accompanied by active duty personnel.

Killington, Killington, Vermont

At this resort, active duty, retired military, and those who have been honorably discharged are eligible for a free military express card, plus free skiing on Veterans Day, and Memorial Day. The Express card will get you 50% off lift tickets and direct-to-lift access.

Monarch Mountain, Salida, Colorado

At this resort, active duty, dependents, retired military, and the reserves can receive a military season pass for $199. With the pass, you can receive unlimited skiing/riding every day as well as many other perks and discounts. For one-day tickets, you can show your military ID and pay $57 for an adult ticket, $49 for a teen ticket, and $35 for a junior ticket. Tickets must be purchased in person.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park, Northern California

At this ski park, you can get a $35 lift ticket any day of the week with a military ID. For active and retired military, not family members. Veterans can receive $10 off lift tickets.

Sierra at Tahoe, Twin Bridges, California

At this resort, they offer free skiing or riding on Sundays to active duty military. You just need to show your military ID at the ticket office. You can get one ticket per person per day, excluding peak dates.

Ski Butternut, Barrington, Massachusetts

At Ski Butternut, they offer active and non active military and their families $25 off a lift ticket, up to $13 on ski and snowboard packages, and $20 on group lessons. This discount is not valid on Martin Luther King’s Day Weekend and Presidents’ Day weekend.

Snowshoe Mountain, Snowshow, West Virginia

At this resort, you can receive 40% off value midweek rates and 20% off weekend and holiday rates for one-day and three-day tickets for their military discount.

Snowy Range, Centennial, Wyoming

At Snowy Range, you can save money on one-day, two-day, three-day, and half-day lift tickets with their military discount.

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Lake Tahoe, California

At Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, active duty military can get a season pass at one of their ticket locations with a valid military ID. They can get this pass for $299. The pass is not valid from January 18-19, 2020 and February 15-16, 2020. This pass is not valid for dependents.

They also have discounted days for active duty and dependents, valid any day. Midweek price would be $89 and weekend would be $109.

Sugarloaf, Carrabassett Valley, Maine

At this resort, you can get 10% off the window ticket rates on weekends and holidays and 20% off midweek days. This discount is for full priced lift tickets, and for active duty, reserves, national guard, retired military and family members. A military ID is required. They also have special military days on January 12th and 16th, February 2nd and 9th, and March 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. In addition, there are discounts on ski and snowboard rentals and more. They also offer 10% off Sugarloaf lodging rates.

Wintergreen Resort, Wintergreen, Virginia

At this resort, you can find a 20% off military discount on all standard lift tickets, lessons, Tree House, and lodging. The discount is for active duty, Wounded Warriors, retired active duty, national guard, spouses and dependent children with a valid military ID.

Winterplace Ski Resort, Flat Top, West Virginia

At Winterplace, you can get a military discount on Wednesdays. The discount is for $28.50 lift tickets, or $27.50 snowtubing tickets. You would need to show a veteran’s or employee/military ID at the ticket window. This discount is also extended to spouses and children, with a max of 6 people. These tickets are not valid during holiday periods.

Taos Ski Valley, Taos, New Mexico

At this resort, they offer a military discount to active duty, reserves, retired military, veterans with a valid military ID. The discount is for tickets and passes. The pass is $550. There are no blackout dates. Dependents are eligible as well. The regular one-day ticket would be $90 with their military discount.

At ON3P you can find skis, gear, and more. They offer a 10% off military discount to active duty personnel and veterans. You would need to fill out a form on their website.


At Jskis you can get skis, bindings, gear, and clothing. They have a 10% off military discount. It can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions. You would need to fill out the form on the website.

Big 5

At Big 5, you can find sleds, snowplay gear, and other clothing. They offer a 10% off military discount. The discount is for active duty, reserve military, retirees, veterans, their spouses, and dependents. You would need to show a valid ID or veteran status on your driver’s license and the discount is for in-store purchases only.

The House

At The House, you can find skis and cross country skis for men, women and children. They offer a 10% off military discount. You would need to call at 1-800-409-7669 to receive a military discount.

As you can see, almost anywhere you want to ski, you might be able to find a military discount to use with yourself and possibly your family. You can also find some discounts when purchasing skis, snowboards, or other winter gear.
