Vail Resorts Military Epic Pass

Vail Resorts also offers a Military Epic Pass at 40 different ski resorts, including, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly, Okemo Mountain, Park City, and more. 

The regular cost of the Epic Pass is $879 for adults, 13+, and $448 for children ages 5-12. The Epic Military Pass is $155 for active duty, active duty dependents, retired military, and retired dependents. Veterans can also get an Epic Military Pass for $499 for those ages 18+, and $268 for those ages 5-17.

Big Bear Mountain Resort Military Discount

Big Bear Lake, California

They offer discounted lift tickets to active duty and their dependents all season long. The discount is for 25% off the ticket window rate for one-day lift tickets with no blackout dates. You can purchase online and will be verified by Sheer ID.

They also offer a military discount on season passes. Anytime tickets are $549 and midweek are $349.

China Peak Mountain Resort Military Ski Pass

Lakeshore, California

At this resort, active, retired, veteran, and active military dependents can purchase one discounted all-day lift ticket. The ticket is valid any day, including holidays. The cost of the 2020-2021 season was $72 for non-holiday days and $80 for holiday days. The discount is for adults only with a valid military ID. They also have a discount on season passes, where you can purchase them at the early season pass rate.

Crystal Mountain Military Ski Pass (WA)

Enumclaw, Washington

Crystal Mountain Washington is offering a 20% discount on midweek lift tickets this winter. Discounts applies to first responders, active and retired military, medical workers, and teachers. To receive the discount you must follow these steps.

Crystal Mountain Military Ski Pass (MI)

Thompsonville, Michigan

Hero lift tickets are available from 01/03/2022-03/31/2022. All active duty and retired military and their dependents can receive 50% off Midweek lift tickets (Monday-Friday). *Excludes Holiday Periods (01/17/22 and 02/21/22).

Deer Valley Utah Military Ski Pass

Park City, Utah

Deer Valley Utah offers roughly 25% off their daily lift pass. Paying $172 versus the $229 active duty, active, reserve, honorably discharged or retired military members get a great deal every day of the week. All service members must have a valid military ID and be able to present it upon receipt of the lift pass. This pass is also available to spouses and dependents with valid military ID.

Deer Valley Local Tip

Alf Engen Ski Museum is an interactive museum that aims in preserving the history of skiing. This museum is absolutely free for anyone who enters its doors and is open from 1000-1800 daily.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort Military Pass

Incline Village, NV

Active Duty U.S. Military receive a free lift ticket midweek/non-peak with valid military ID and $20 off on weekends and peak periods. Retired military and dependents receive $20 off all days. Civilian, contractors, foreign affiliates, VA and expired IDs are not accepted. Visit the Guest Services window with ID.

Dodge Ridge Military Ski Pass

Pinecrest, California

At this resort, active duty military, ages 20 and older pay $75, and teens, ages 18-19 pay $65 for their military discount.

Eagle Point Military Discount

Beaver, Utah

Opening day will be December 16, 2022. They offer 15% off lift tickets with a proper military ID.

Grand Targhee Resort Military Ski Pass

Alta, Wyoming

At this resort, you can find a discount on lift tickets for active duty personnel, veterans, and spouses with valid IDs. The discount is for a full-day lift ticket at 30% off.

Holiday Valley Military Ski Pass

Ellicottville, NY

Jumping up on Ski Magazine’s list this year is Holiday Valley. This mountain has always been a local secret with its amazing trail range and family feel, but the secret is slowly leaking out. Travelers from all over the country are starting to realize how amazing Holiday valley really is. Offering discounts to military members and their families is just one way they make you feel a part of the family. For the weekends and holidays, military members pay $62 for the 8-hour ticket and just $46 for the weekday passes. Additionally, you can get the night pass for $32. This offer is only allowed at the ticket window so it is important to keep that military ID on you at all times this winter season.

Holiday Valley Local Tip

Bring your crock-pot to the mountain with you. You’ll look like a local and have a great home-cooked warm meal at the end of your long day on the mountain.

Killington Military Express Ski Pass Discount

Killington, Vermont

At this resort, active duty, retired military, and those who have been honorably discharged are eligible for a free military express card, plus free skiing on Veterans Day, and Memorial Day.

Mad River Glen

Waitsfield, VT

Great news for active duty military members at Mad River Glen, lift tickets are free! All you need is to be able to present your Military ID at the ticket window. Are you a Veteran or Retired? Mad river glen also offers a 50% discount on one regularly priced ticket. Located in the heart of Vermont, Mad River Glen has a lot to offer. With 250 inches of annual snowfall, beginners through advanced free riders always have something to challenge them. With the nation’s last remaining single chairlift, it is a great part of authentic skiing. Great beer, great food and an amazing atmosphere make the trip worthwhile, the skiing is just an add-on.

Just 25 minutes away lies the gem of Vermont, the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory. With tons of extra local flavors and a factory tour with free ice cream at the end, you will not want to miss this.

Monarch Mountain Military Ski Pass

Salida, Colorado

At this resort, active duty, dependents, retired military, and the reserves can receive a military season pass for $219. With the pass, you can receive unlimited skiing/riding every day as well as many other perks and discounts. For one-day tickets, you can show your military ID and get a buddy pass ticket. Tickets must be purchased in person.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park Military Lift Tickets

Northern California

At this ski park, you can get a $40 lift ticket any day of the week with a military ID. For active and retired military, not family members.

Sierra at Tahoe Military Discount

Twin Bridges, California

At this resort, they offer free skiing or riding on Sundays to active duty military. You just need to show your military ID at the ticket office. You can get one ticket per person per day, excluding peak dates. (Haven’t updated for the 2021-2022 season yet.)

Snowshoe Mountain Military Discount Ski Pass

Snowshow, West Virginia

For a military discount, you can get 25% off of value and midweek tickets, and 10% off of weekend and holiday tickets. Additionally, they offer a discounted Season Pass for the Military for $499. There is a 10% discount on lodging.

Palisades Tahoe Military Discount for Military and Veterans

Lake Tahoe, California

They offer a discount on tickets, both on Monday through Friday lift tickets and Sunday lift tickets. They also offer a military discount on season passes, however, they sell out early.

Sugarloaf Mountain Military Discount Ski Pass

Rates for the 2022 season haven’t been updated yet. 

Carrabassett Valley, Maine

At this resort, you can get 10% off the window ticket rates on weekends and holidays and 20% off midweek days. This discount is for full-priced lift tickets, and for active duty, reserves, national guard, retired military, and family members. A military ID is required. They also have special military days on January 12th and 16th, February 2nd, and 9th, and March 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. In addition, there are discounts on ski and snowboard rentals and more. They also offer 10% off Sugarloaf lodging rates.

Sunday River Military Ski Pass

Sunday River in Maine is one of the most popular ski resorts in the state. Currently pumping out man-made and natural snow, Maine is ready for winter.

Ranked number 5 in the nation for snowmaking and grooming, any skier or snowboarder that is trying to find the sought after corduroy better find their way to Sunday River at some point this season.

Their 20% discount on midweek lift-ticket is taken at the counter for all Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and Retired Service Personnel. Additionally, their spouses and dependents can also get a discount.

Sunday River also has special days for military members that offer a discount. Even on its busiest days, you are able to find the sweet spot of skiing, short lift lines, and quiet trails.

Sun Valley Idaho Military Ski Pass 

Sun Valley Idaho ranked number one for the 2020-2021 season on ski magazine, offers a 50% discount for all active duty military and their dependents. 50% off the daily ticket rate is taken at the ticket counter with a valid military ID. Additionally, Veterans and retired military members receive 30% the daily ticket price.

Sun Valley Local Tip

The Gold Mine is a local thrift store with hidden treasures from lightly used skis to top of the line fashion statement pieces. Open only from 10:00-17:30, it’s a great place to spend the day when your legs need a break from the mountain.

Taos Ski Valley

Taos, New Mexico

At this resort, they offer a discount on passes for the military. You would buy online and be verified with ID.me.

When thinking of winter sports and skiing, New Mexico may not be the first state that comes to mind. Yet, Taos Ski Valley NM is ranked number 4 on Ski Magazine’s top 30 places to ski in the west for the 2020-2021 season. Military members can get a Value season pass for $830, as well as other types of passes based on your needs. For day lift tickets, you can also get a military discount. You can buy these online. Day passes are available for purchase at the ticket window with a valid military ID. With 300” of average annual snowfall, New Mexico should be on your horizon.

Local Tip for Taos Ski Valley

Catch a sunrise Hot Air Balloon trip across the Rio Grande. Depending on the weather, the tour may be able to dip just above the Rio Grande to witness wildlife and other perspectives you may not see on land. With breathtaking views all year round, it is not an excursion you want to miss.

Telluride Ski Resort Military Ski Pass

To receive your pass at Telluride Ski Resort you must purchase a $110 Telluride Military Card. This card gives you your first day free and 30% off each time you purchase any additional days throughout the season. This pass is open to all military members and their families as long as they can present their valid military ID. With this pass, there are no restrictions or blackout dates so you and your family will be able to save year-round.

Telluride Ski Resort Local Tip

Wake up early and catch the first Lift 12 Chair, hike for 20-30 minutes to reach the Gold Hill Shute. This area gives you the backcountry feel without having to leave your family on a separate mountain. From advanced to expert terrain, take caution on this beautiful pass to experience an awesome thrill this season.

White Face Mountain Military Ski Pass

Wilmington, New York

Locally known as Ice Face, White Face Mountain is located in the heart of the Adirondack State Park. Claiming to be the better of the “whites” in the east with 190 inches of average snowfall annually they are hard to compete with. The area is steaming hot with new and upcoming breweries so it is important to take an afternoon for “scientific research”. Active duty military members receive a 50% off one-day lift tickets mid-week and non holiday days, and 25% off holiday and weekends. While this discount is only allowed at the ticket window, it is open to the immediate family. This discount also includes any retired or veteran military members and their immediate families.

White Face Mountain Local Tip

Check out Lake Placid, the host of the 1932 and 1980 winter Olympics. With different night activities, you’re able to keep the kids busy après ski.

White Fish Montana Mountain Resort Military Discount

White Fish, Montana

The White Fish Montana military ski pass offer is 50% off daily lift passes to all active, reserve, and retired military members and their dependents. They also offer 50% off certain services such as winter equipment and group rentals. There may be some blackout dates for those services but the daily lift pass discount is always available. All discounts will be honored with the military ID present at the time of purchase.

Local Tip for White Fish Mountain Resort

It is rumored that Chair 2, Swift Creek Express, opens a half an hour before the other lifts. Skiers are able to warm up on freshly groomed snow and get a head start on the open crowd.

Wintergreen Resort Military Ski Pass

Wintergreen, Virginia

At this resort, you can find a 20% off military discount on all standard lift tickets, lessons, and lodging. The discount is for active duty, Wounded Warriors, retired active duty, national guard, spouses, and dependent children with a valid military ID.

Winterplace Ski Resort Military Pass

Flat Top, West Virginia

Winterplace offers a discount on all standard lifts, rentals, and lodging (see details and restrictions on their website). Discount only valid for lift, and rental purchased on site and based on availability. You will need to call for the discount. If pre-purchasing online, the discount does not apply.

Military and Veteran Discounts on Your Ski Gear

Big 5

At Big 5, you can find sleds, snow play gear, and other clothing. They offer a 10% off military discount. The discount is for active duty, reserve military, retirees, veterans, their spouses, and dependents. You would need to show a valid ID or veteran status on your driver’s license.  The discount is for in-store purchases only.

Jskis

At Jskis you can get skis, bindings, gear, and clothing. They have a 10% military discount. It can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions. You would need to fill out the form on the website.

ON3P

At ON3P you can find skis, gear, and more. They offer a 10% military discount to active duty personnel and veterans. You would need to fill out a form on their website.

 

As you can see, almost anywhere you want to ski, you might be able to find a military discount to use with yourself and possibly your family. You can also find some discounts when purchasing skis, snowboards, or other winter gear.
