Save This Winter with Military Discounts on Your Ski Passes

Winter will be here soon and with it, ski season! Here is a long list of military ski pass discounts for resorts across the country. Save a little bit of money this year when you make plans to have some fun on the slopes.

Big Bear Mountain Resort, Big Bear Lake, California

They offer discounted lift tickets to active duty and their dependents all season long. The discount is for 25% off the ticket window rate for one-day lift tickets with no blackout dates. Valid at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit.

You can also get 2020/2021 Military Season Passes by purchasing them online, by calling them or going to a season pass and guest services office at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit. There are five different passes to choose from. In addition, they also offer 2021 Bike Park Season passes and 2021 Summer Discounts.

Vail Resorts

Vail Resorts also offers a Military Epic Pass which is good at 37 different ski resorts, including, Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone, Heavenly, Okemo Mountain, Park City, and more. 

While the Epic Pass is normally $999 for adults, 13+ and $509 for children ages 5-12, the Epic Military Pass is $189 for active duty, active duty dependents, retired military, and retired dependents. Veterans can also get an Epic Military Pass for $579 for those ages 18+, and $319 for those ages 5-17. They also offer a Liberty Pass for active, retired, veterans, and dependents for $319 for adults ages 18+, or $219 for ages 5-17. 

China Peak Mountain Resort, Lakeshore, California

At this resort, active, retired, veteran, and active military dependents can purchase one discounted all-day lift ticket. The ticket is valid any day, including holidays. The cost of the 2019-2020 season was $49 for non-holiday days and $52 for holiday days. The discount is for adults only with a valid military ID. (Haven’t updated for the 2020-2021 season yet.)

Crystal Mountain, Enumclaw, Washington

This resort offers a daily $10 discount to the military and their dependents with a valid military ID. The tickets are available at the resort and the discount is valid on full-price tickets only for midweek, not weekends or holidays. They also have a military appreciation event in April of 50% off full-price tickets and $25 rental packages. (Haven’t updated for the 2020-2021 season yet.)

Crystal Mountain, Thompsonville, Michigan

Hero lift tickets are available from 01/04-04/04/2021. All active duty and retired military and their dependents can receive $15 off of Saturday and peak period tickets, and 50% off of midweek, Sunday through Friday tickets. You must show your military ID at the ticket and rental windows for the discount.

Diamond Peak Ski Resort, Incline Village, NV

They offer active duty a free lift ticket during midweek and non-peak days. During the weekends and peak periods, the tickets will be $20 off. Retired military and dependents can receive $20 off the all-day window rate during the whole season.

Dodge Ridge, Pinecrest, California

At this resort, active duty military, ages 20-64 pay $65, and teens, ages 18-19 pay $55 for their military discount.

Eagle Point, Beaver, Utah

Opening day will be December 18, 2020. They offer 15% off lift tickets with a proper military ID.

Grand Targhee Resort, Alta, Wyoming

At this resort, you can find a discount on lift tickets for active duty personnel with a valid ID. The discount is for a full-day lift ticket at 30% off.

Killington, Killington, Vermont

At this resort, active duty, retired military, and those who have been honorably discharged are eligible for a free military express card, plus free skiing on Veterans Day, and Memorial Day. The Express card will get you 50% off lift tickets and direct-to-lift access. 2020-2021 Express Cards are no longer available but will be for the 2021-2022 season.

Monarch Mountain, Salida, Colorado

At this resort, active duty, dependents, retired military, and the reserves can receive a military season pass for $199. With the pass, you can receive unlimited skiing/riding every day as well as many other perks and discounts. For one-day tickets, you can show your military ID and pay $59 for an adult ticket, $52 for a teen ticket, and $39 for a junior ticket. Tickets must be purchased in person.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park, Northern California

At this ski park, you can get a $35 lift ticket any day of the week with a military ID. For active and retired military, not family members. Veterans can receive $10 off lift tickets.

Sierra at Tahoe, Twin Bridges, California

At this resort, they offer free skiing or riding on Sundays to active duty military. You just need to show your military ID at the ticket office. You can get one ticket per person per day, excluding peak dates. (Haven’t updated for the 2020-2021 season yet.)

Snowshoe Mountain, Snowshow, West Virginia

At this resort, you can receive 40% off value midweek rates and 20% off weekend and holiday rates for one-day and three-day tickets for their military discount. They also offer $399 military passes. (Haven’t updated for the 2020-2021 season yet.)

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, Lake Tahoe, California

At Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, active duty military, veteran, and reserves can get a season pass at one of their ticket locations with a valid military ID. They can get this pass for $299. The pass is not valid from December 26, 2020-January 2, 2021; January 16-17, 2001; and February 13-14, 2021. This pass is not valid for dependents but the pass comes with 10 friends and family lift tickets.

They also have discounted days for active duty and dependents, valid any day. Midweek price would be $89 and weekend would be $109.

Sugarloaf, Carrabassett Valley, Maine

At this resort, you can get 10% off the window ticket rates on weekends and holidays and 20% off midweek days. This discount is for full priced lift tickets, and for active duty, reserves, national guard, retired military, and family members. A military ID is required. They also have special military days on January 12th and 16th, February 2nd, and 9th, and March 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. In addition, there are discounts on ski and snowboard rentals, and more. They also offer 10% off Sugarloaf lodging rates. (Haven’t updated for the 2020-2021 season yet.)

Wintergreen Resort, Wintergreen, Virginia

At this resort, you can find a 20% off military discount on all standard lift tickets, lessons, Tree House, and lodging. The discount is for active duty, Wounded Warriors, retired active duty, national guard, spouses, and dependent children with a valid military ID.

Winterplace Ski Resort, Flat Top, West Virginia

Winterplace offers a 10% off military discount. You would need to show a veteran’s or employee/military ID at the ticket window.

Taos Ski Valley, Taos, New Mexico

At this resort, they offer a discount on lift tickets. $102 for peak days, and $75 for non-peak days. They also offer a discount on passes.

Military and Veteran Discounts on Your Ski Gear

ON3P

At ON3P you can find skis, gear, and more. They offer a 10% off military discount to active duty personnel and veterans. You would need to fill out a form on their website.

Jskis

At Jskis you can get skis, bindings, gear, and clothing. They have a 10% off military discount. It can’t be combined with other discounts or promotions. You would need to fill out the form on the website.

Big 5

At Big 5, you can find sleds, snow play gear, and other clothing. They offer a 10% off military discount. The discount is for active duty, reserve military, retirees, veterans, their spouses, and dependents. You would need to show a valid ID or veteran status on your driver’s license.  The discount is for in-store purchases only.

The House

At The House, you can find skis and cross country skis for men, women, and children. They offer a 10% off military discount. You would need to call at 1-800-409-7669 or connect over chat to receive a military discount.

As you can see, almost anywhere you want to ski, you might be able to find a military discount to use with yourself and possibly your family. You can also find some discounts when purchasing skis, snowboards, or other winter gear.
