About Mazda

They began as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co. Ltd in Hiroshima, Japan in 1920. In 1927 they were renamed Toyo Kogyo and in 1931 they went from machine tools to vehicles with the introduction of the Mazda-Go auto rickshaw.

They started with the Mazda name in 1984 but every vehicle from the beginning was called a Mazda. In 1968, they began formal operations in Canada, and in 1970 entered the American market creating the Mazda Rotary pickup just for the North American market.

From 1974-2015, they had a partnership with the Ford Motor Company and in 2015 they signed an agreement with Toyota.

You can find them worldwide, and their headquarters are in Hiroshima, Japan with their North American headquarters in Irvine, CA. They have nearly 600 dealers in North America. You can receive $500 in bonus cash for their military promotion.

Popular Mazda Models

Over the years, Mazda has come out with some popular models. The 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata served as the poster child for Mazda’s pursuit of the Jinba Ittai engineering philosophy. The 1993 Mazda RX-7 is a tireless, no-compromise sports car that stayed true to its roots. The 2013 Mazda CX-5 showed that SUVs can be lightweight, balanced, and efficient. The 2003-2007 Mazda 6 represented the company’s family car philosophy. The 2004 Mazda 3, which came after the Protegé, is one of the best practical fun cars on the market.
