About Jeep Models

Jeep has had many different types of vehicles over the years. From 1993-1998 they had the Jeep Grand Cherokee, which was Jeep’s second-most versatile model.

The TJ Wrangler from 1997-2006 could moonlight as a ready-for-action off-road machine on tough trails.

From 2007 to the present they have had the Wrangler JK Unlimited, which is a very versatile Jeep, being able to drive over almost anything.

From 1981-1985 they made the CJ-8 Scrambler, which was a cool collector’s Jeep.

From 2005-2010 they produced the HEMI Jeep Commander, which was big and imposing.

About Jeep

In 1940, the US Army solicited bids from 135 automakers for a ¼ ton “light reconnaissance vehicle” tailored to what the Army would need. Three companies responded, Bantam, Willys-Overland, and Ford. They collectively produced the template for the vehicle knowns as “Jeep.”

Jeep became a registered trademark of Willys-Overland in 1950 and then in 1953, the company became Willys Motor Inc. American Motors Corporation purchased Jeep operations in 1970. Chrysler bought AMC in 1987.

Their headquarters are in Toledo, OH and there are at least 2500 dealerships in the US. You can find them worldwide except in Cuba, Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Sudan. They offer a $500 military bonus cash offer.
