They want to create a safe environment for veterans and their families to establish a trusting relationship with PGA professionals.

The program will teach veterans the basics of golf, including etiquette and course management. They will help veterans empower themselves to feel confident playing golf independently after they graduate from the program.

PGA America, which is PGA REACH, PGA Section Foundations, and PGA Professionals will work with local VA hospitals and military installations to implement the program. Veterans will attend a one-day introductory golf experience, then they can participate in a 6-8 week program taught by PGA professionals that are trained to work with veterans with physical and emotional disabilities. After they graduate they receive a special card offering them a range of golf-related benefits in their region.
