About Dell
Dell was founded by Michael Dell in 1984 when he created Dell Computer Corporation, starting as PC Limited. He was a student at the University of Texas at Austin at the time. He ended up dropping out of school to focus on the business.
In 1985, the company produced the first computer of its own design, the Turbo PC. The name PC Limited was dropped in 1987, and they became Dell Computer Corporation and began expanding globally. Their internet site took off in 1996 and 1997, and they achieved their fastest growth in the early 2000s.
Dell serves people worldwide and can be found in many different stores. They closed all of their showrooms in 2013. Their headquarters are in Round Rock, TX.
