Cruise Line Discounts for Military and Veterans

Taking a cruise anytime soon? Make sure to check out these military discounts on cruise lines before you book your next trip. You should be able to save a little bit of money that way.

Margaritaville at Sea

Margaritaville at Sea has announced a new Heroes Sail Free complimentary cruise to the Bahamas. This is for members of the military, both active and veteran, first responders, law enforcement officers, and educators. This is a partnership with Govx.com. Margaritaville at Sea features gourmet food and beverages, pools, retail stores, and more.

You must be a verified member through the GOVX ID or ShopVCS platform. Up to two qualified members per stateroom. This offer does not include taxes, fees, and gratuities. One sailing per member, per year. You would receive a free 3-day, 2-night cruise to the Grand Bahama Island. The offer is good for bookings from January 5- December 29, 2023, with some blackout dates.

Carnival Cruise

Carnival Cruises offers cruises to Alaska, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, the Panama Canal, Transatlantic, and Transpacific. They do offer military fares for any stateroom type, departure port, or destination. This discount is for active and retired US military as well as Canadian National Defense members.

Celebrity Cruises sails to Alaska, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Dubai India, Europe, Galapagos, Hawaii, Pacific Coastal, the Panama Canal, South America, Transatlantic, and Transpacific.

Disney Cruises

Disney offers a special military rate on certain cruises. They are 3-5 day Bahamian cruises, as well as select Alaskan, Norwegian Fjords, Northern Europe, and British Isle cruises.

They offer a discount on one stateroom per military member. The discount is for all retired, and active US military, their spouses, including the national guard and reserves. You would need to show your ID at the time of check-in.  The military member will have to be there at check-in. Availability to this offer is limited on each sailing.

MSC Cruises

MSC Cruises goes to the Caribbean and the Antilles, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and India, South America, South Africa, Canada and New England, Asia, and Worldwide. They offer up to 10% savings on their cruises. The discount is available to active and retired US and Canadian military personnel, plus family members including spouses, parents, in-laws, and dependant children. The discount can be applied to multiple staterooms, and they offer zero penalties if you have to cancel because of a deployment. They offer 5% off of interior and ocean staterooms, 10% off of a balcony, suite, and MSC Yacht Club staterooms. Kids also sail free on certain sailings.

Norwegian Cruise Line 

Norwegian goes to many locations such as Asia, Africa, Alaska, Australia and New Zealand, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Mexico, and Northern Europe. They also have transatlantic and weekend cruises. They have a Military Appreciation Program where you can save 10% off all cruise fares and can combine the discount with the Free at Sea program. Their military discount is for active duty military, reserves, the national guard, and veterans. You would need to register for My NCL account where you would be verified by ID.me.

Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises offers trips to Alaska, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, California and the Pacific Coast, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, Japan, Mexico, the Panama Canal, South America and Antarctica, Tahiti and the South Pacific, as well as offering world cruises.

Their military discount is offering up to $250 of free onboard spending money, which is a form of onboard credit. This offer is for veterans as well as those who are active, retired, or disabled military personnel.

You can use this on any cruise, at any time of the year and it can be used to purchase a variety of amenities and experiences on the cruise. The credit can be used for:

Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean offers cruises to Alaska, the Arabian Gulf, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Canada and New England, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, the Pacific Northwest, the Panama Canal, the South Pacific, Transatlantic, and Transpacific. They offer a military rate, which is open to active duty military in the US and Canada, as well as retired military, veterans with an honorable discharge that have served a minimum of two years or 6-months in a war zone. Spouses can also book one stateroom as long as the eligible spouse is occupying the stateroom. Spouses of deceased military are also eligible.
