Summer is almost here and there are many ways to save a little bit of money through military discounts. From amusement parks to hotels, here are some of the companies that can help you save a little bit of money during your summer vacations with military discounts.
Amusement Parks Military Discounts
Amusement parks are the perfect place to go during your summer vacation. There are many different options too. From places filled with roller coaster rides to water park adventures. Here are some of the best amusement park military discounts to take advantage of:
Disneyland and Disney World Military Discounts
You can buy 3-4 day passes at Disneyland, at either your military installation, or at the park, and 4-5 day passes at Walt Disney World at your military installation or at Shades of Green Military Resort.
These discounts are for active duty military, to include national guard and the reserves, as well as retired military. Each service member or spouse can purchase up to six of these discounted tickets.
Universal Studios Military Discount
Universal Studios has a few discounts depending on the park and where you buy your tickets. At Universal Studios in Hollywood, you can get a good military discount when you buy your tickets on your military installation. If you buy at the gate, you will be able to receive $3.00 off of your ticket so it is best to buy them at your military installation t if you can.
At Universal Studios in Orlando you can find a great deal on tickets to all three parks, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida, and Universal Volcano Bay. You can get 1-park a day tickets as well as 2-park and 3-park a day passes. You will have to buy these tickets on your military installation.
SeaWorld Military Discount and Waves of Honor
With the Waves of Honor program, each service member can receive one complimentary ticket and up to three dependent tickets to one of the three SeaWorld parks which are in Orlando, San Antonio, and San Diego, Busch Gardens in Tampa, or Sesame Place. Tickets need to be ordered online.
Busch Gardens Military Discount (Williamsburg)
Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA offers a special discount for military members. Veterans, retirees, and IRR service members who have previously served with an honorable discharge can receive discounted single-day tickets. These passes need to be ordered online.
Active duty military including activated or drilling reservist or national guard members that are currently serving can receive a Military Pass which is good for unlimited visits to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Water Country USA, and Christmas Town. The pass will also include free parking. These passes can be ordered online or at your local MWR/Travel office.
Dollywood Military Discount
Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, TN offers a military discount. Last year the discount was 30% off of a one-day admissions for active, retired, disabled veterans, military reservists, spouses, and dependents.
Military Discount Hotels
There are many different hotels that also offer military discounts. They will allow you to save a little bit of money on your accommodations, and because of the discount, this may allow you to stay an extra day or two. Here are some of the hotels with discounts to check out this summer:
Best Western Hotels and Resorts in North America offer 10% off or more off the Flexible Rate for veterans, and military and government personnel.
Choice Hotel properties include Comfort Inns, Quality Inns, Econo Lodges, and more. Choice Hotels offer discounts on one or two person rates for military personnel, their dependants, and members of several government/military associations.
Homewood Suites by Hilton
Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotels offers a discount to state, federal, and United States Military employees. These Suites are great places to stay during a PCS or for traveling.

Military Discounts Airlines
Some airlines offer a small discount on the price of your flight and others give a break on their baggage claim fees. Here is a little bit about a few of the airlines that offer a military discount:

Southwest Airlines (links to CollegeRecon) offers a special rate as a military discount. You will need to call to get this special rate and the rate applies to active duty military and their families only.
Delta Airlines offers a discount on tickets to active members of the United States military. You will need to call to receive this special rate. They also offer active duty military more free bags than civilian customers and offer military medical travel discounts if you have a war-injured immediate family member or domestic partner.
JetBlue Airlines offers a 5% discount on tickets for active duty military personnel and their immediate family. Veterans who have Veterans Advantage can also receive 5% off of their tickets. They also have a bag waiver, with two free bags for military members and their dependents on leisure travel.
United Airlines will offer 5% off to United States military veterans, active duty military, national guard, reserve members and their families if they are signed up with Veterans Advantage.
Activities and Fun
In addition to amusement parks, hotels and airlines, you can find military discounts in your local area. Make sure to check at your local pools, gyms, museums, movie theaters, and restaurants for military discounts. Many of these places do offer a type of discount that you can use this summer.
