About Belk
Belk was founded in 1888 by William Henry Belk in Monroe, North Carolina. They were first called New York Racket, and then Belk Brothers. The first Belk opened west of the Mississippi in 1947. In 1998, the company formed a new entity, Belk, Inc. merging all of the Belk companies together. Their headquarters are in Charlotte, North Carolina, and they have around 300 locations in 16 states. They do have a military discount on Tuesdays.
